Original fictional learning scenario. People, dialogue and personal experiences are created for language practice.
Three friends needed somewhere to stay during a weekend course. The cheapest hostel had shared rooms and no quiet area. A hotel offered private rooms but cost more than their whole travel budget. They found a small flat with a kitchen outside the centre.
Its price looked reasonable until they added the bus fares and cleaning fee. Finally, they chose a guesthouse near the course. Breakfast was included, and they could walk everywhere. It was not the cheapest room on the list, but it was the cheapest complete weekend. They learned to compare total costs rather than just the first number in an advert.
