For a media project, our group considered an article about the actors from the Harry Potter films. We quickly discovered why the word 'now' creates work for an editor. An interview from several years earlier might describe a project that had already finished, while an old photograph could appear in a newly shared post.

We decided to give each career detail a date and use recent, attributable sources rather than fan speculation. We also left out private matters that were not relevant to the performers' work. The finished project compared how a long-running screen role can shape public expectations, without pretending that an actor's later life is simply another chapter of the character's story. It was a less complete-looking list, but readers could see what each statement was based on and when it applied.
