Original fictional learning scenario. People, dialogue and personal experiences are created for language practice.
When I was a child, my family often had to choose carefully between everyday expenses. I remember missing a school trip because we could not afford it. I also remember my father helping me build a toy boat from scraps of wood. People sometimes turn stories like ours into a lesson about being happy with nothing.
That is not what I mean. We had love and good moments, but lack of money still made life harder. Today I volunteer at a school fund that helps children join trips. I want them to have opportunities without having to explain their family's finances to classmates.
