Original fictional learning scenario. People, dialogue and personal experiences are created for language practice.
My cousin introduced me to carrom, a game played on a square board. He showed me how to flick a larger disc towards the smaller pieces and send them into corner pockets. Before our first game, we agreed to use a simple beginner version of the rules. I wanted to hit hard every time, but the pieces often went in the wrong direction.
My cousin suggested slowing down and thinking about angles. I soon made one careful shot and scored. We left the more complicated rules for another day. Learning one skill at a time made the game much less confusing.
