In a notebook from 2020, I found a list of predictions about life after the pandemic. I thought all meetings would stay online and nobody would want crowded events again. Looking back, my own life is more mixed. I still use video calls for short work discussions, but I prefer meeting friends in person. My local shop now accepts online orders, although many customers still visit. The notebook reminds me how difficult predictions are. A big event can change habits without replacing every old habit. Next to each prediction, I have written what actually happened in my own experience.
