Nuts can provide protein, fibre and other nutrients as part of a varied diet. That does not mean every snack with nuts is the same. A plain, unsalted handful is different from nuts covered in sugar or lots of salt.
In our class shopping exercise, we compared labels rather than choosing the packet with the healthiest-looking picture. We also remembered that nuts are not suitable for everyone: people with nut allergies need safe alternatives. The exercise was about reading information, not finding one perfect food. A useful food choice depends on both what a product contains and the needs of the person eating it.
