Claims that cannabis cures cancer often move too quickly from an interesting laboratory result to a conclusion about patients. Research on cells or animals can suggest questions worth studying, but it does not establish that a substance safely and effectively treats cancer in humans. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that studies have not shown cannabis or individual cannabinoids to cure cancer.

Another distinction matters: helping with certain symptoms or treatment side effects is not the same as treating the cancer itself. Personal stories may be emotionally powerful, yet they rarely reveal all the other treatments and circumstances involved. A careful reader therefore asks what was tested, in whom and against what comparison. The responsible conclusion is about the evidence available, not about how strongly a headline, seller or individual believes a claim.
