Original fictional learning scenario. People, dialogue and personal experiences are created for language practice.

Our town's online group shared a photograph of an enormous footprint beside the river. A caption claimed an unknown animal had been seen at dawn. Within hours, people were arranging visits, and a local café advertised a monster breakfast. The photograph was later revealed to be part of an art student's project about belief.

Some residents laughed, but others felt that their trust had been used without permission. The student argued that the hoax demonstrated how easily a dramatic image spread. A teacher pointed out that a demonstration could reveal a problem while also causing one. At the public discussion, the most interesting question was no longer whether the creature existed. It was whether an experiment about misinformation should mislead people who had never agreed to participate, and what responsibility remained after the joke was explained.
