Original fictional learning scenario. People, dialogue and personal experiences are created for language practice.

Our five-stop journey began in Lisbon and ended in Vienna, with Madrid, Lyon and Milan between them. At first, we planned a different city every day. Then we calculated how much time we would spend packing, finding stations and checking into rooms. We cut several places from the route and stayed longer at each stop.

In Lyon, a cancelled train unexpectedly gave us another afternoon. We spent it in a neighbourhood market rather than searching for a famous attraction. That afternoon became one of our best memories. The trip still involved early starts and a few disagreements, but it no longer felt like a competition to collect city names. Next time we might choose only three stops and explore them more slowly.
