This is my first Thanksgiving dinner with my friend Kate's family in the United States. I arrive early to help set the table. Kate's father is cooking, and her sister is making a salad. Before we eat, everyone says something they are thankful for. I say I am thankful for new friends. There is a lot of food, but I take a small plate first. After dinner, we wash the dishes together. Kate gives me a box of food to take home. I call my family and tell them about the evening.
